White Pine Trail |
Work crews have begun preparing the White Pine Trail for asphalt between Cadillac (Sunnyside Drive) and LeRoy (Kent Street). Work is expected to be completed by October 1. |

UPDATE: As of September 1, the first layer of asphalt is down on most of the trail, however, they have stopped clear of the road crossings. The top layer will be an extra hard surface and will include the road crossings. Concern has been expressed that due to the height of the finisheded asphalt, we may not be able to groom the White Pine as wide as we have in the past. Time will tell. |

Caberfae Road Tunnel |
The snowmobile tunnel under Caberfae/13 Mile Road will soon become history. The Forest Service has plans to fill in the tunnel and build a ramp-like approach to Caberfae/13Mile Road that will allow traffic (and snowmobiles) to cross level with the road. It isn't certain wither we will have the use of the tunnel one more winter or not. You might want to take a picture if the tunnel is still around this winter as it will soon be gone forever. |

Fire Extinguishers and First Aid Kits |
We recently purchased new fire extinguishers and first aid kits in all our groomers. You never know when you might need either when you are out on the trails. Most of volunteer operators are not trained in first aid or fire-fighting,,however, we are fortunate to have a few Cherry Grove Firefighters who volunteer as groomers. |

Tractors and Drags are looking great. |
Jim Thomas and Gayle Butterfield have spend hours this summer cleaning the tractors and painting the drags. The equipment looks better than it has in years. Thanks Jim and Gayle. Your efforts make us all look good this winter. |

Groomer Maintenance Day/Groomer Operator Training Day--December 4 |
This is the day all groomer operators and new groomer operators get together to get the groomers ready to roll. That includes oil changes, putting tires and chains on, cleaning tractors and drags from summer maintenance projects, checking lights, etc. and teaching new volunteers how to drive the groomers. |
