EQUIPMENT CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS owns four grooming units as shown here. During the grooming season they are stationed at various places along the 120 mile trail system. Each groomer is responsible for a different segment of the trail system consisting of one or two routes. Depending on the availability of drivers and trail conditions at the time, drivers are scheduled to make day runs and/or evening runs . If the temperature is above freezing, the groomers are likely to remained parked as they need freezing temperatures to achieve a quality groom. Although the routes vary in time and distance, most take about 6 to 8 hours to complete depending on conditions. When grooming, the tractors average 6-7 miles per hour and get about 1.3 miles per gallon. |
